Egg Freezing

It is a method used to save women’s ability to get pregnant in the future.

Eggs harvested from your ovaries are frozen unfertilized and stored for later use.

You might consider egg freezing if:

  • You have a condition or circumstance that can affect your fertility.
  • You need treatment for cancer or another illness that can affect your ability to get pregnant.
  • You’re undergoing in vitro fertilization.
  • You wish to preserve younger eggs now for future use.

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

It is a highly recommended treatment to overcome male infertility problems.

It is similar to the IVF while the only difference is that instead of mixing the sperm with the eggs and leaving them to fertilize, the fertility specialist injects a single sperm into the centre of an egg, maximizing the chances of fertilization taking place.

Egg Donation

It refers to the use of eggs donated by another woman who acts as a ‘donor’ to assist an individual or couple who are the ‘recipient(s)’, in their attempt to become parents.

In order to donate eggs, the donor must undertake treatment on an IVF cycle.

The use of donor eggs is an option for women:

  • unable to produce their own eggs,
  • or when it has become clear that her eggs are of a poor quality and are unlikely to lead to the birth of a child.

Ovarian Rejuvenation PRP Therapy

It is a new, experimental procedure, used when there is:

  • Premature ovarian failure (early menopause).
  • Suboptimal response to hormone stimulation (low egg numbers during IVF or ICSI or low AMH).
  • Advanced maternal age.

It involves injecting growth factors, a technique similar to that used to extract eggs for IVF.

Success of the treatment may be seen by:

  • A return of menstrual periods where they previously had stopped.
  • A reduction in FSH levels and a rise in AMH levels in menopausal women.
