Dentures
Dentures, commonly known as false teeth, are replacements for missing teeth. They fit snugly over the gums to replace missing teeth and are typically made by a prosthodontist, who specializes in this field.
By matching each individual’s unique smile and bite, dentures can improve facial appearance and self-confidence, improve speech problems caused by missing teeth and chewing.
Complete dentures (a full set) replace all teeth. Any remaining teeth are removed and gum tissue is allowed to undergo preliminary heeling before the dentures are placed in the mouth.
Removable partial dentures replace some teeth when you haven’t lost all natural ones and attach to the remaining teeth with either metal clasps or precision attachments.
Overdentures (denture over implants) are a newer alternative to dentures, combining traditional denture technology with modern advancements in dental implants.
