Dr Peter Smahliou has performed more than 17,000 cataract and 10,000 laser refractive surgeries.
Dr Peter Smahliou graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1988. He became a professor at the Royal College of Eye Profiles of the United Kingdom (FRCS). He has been a chief ophthalmologist in several university hospitals and has completed his fellowship at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London on oculoplastics. He is a former lecturer at the Oxford University Ophthalmology Clinic.
In 1997, dr Peter Smahliou collaborated with “Ophthalmos Institute” and “Hygeia hospital”, where he specialized in refractive surgery. Since 2001, he maintains a private eye clinic. At the same time, he is the director of the ophthalmological department of "Ygeias Melathron Hospital”, which belongs to the National Bank of Greece. He is also a former collaborator of Hygeia Hospital and director of Ophthalmology Clinic of Athens Medical Center. Dr Peter Smahliou has performed more than 17,000 cataract and 10,000 laser refractive surgeries.
Dr Peter Smahliou has written over 10 scientific articles and has given over 70 lectures in Greek and international conferences.
