Dr. George Kontovazainitis is specialized in Periodontology and he maintains a private dental practice in the center of Athens. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology.
Dr. George Kontovazainitis was born in Athens and he entered University of Athens - School of Dentistry after Panhellenic University Entrance Examination in 1995 (Score: 6.157/6.400, Ranked 3rd out of 150 candidates, School of Dentistry, Ranked 38th out of 15000 candidates, Greek Universities, all Faculties). Following graduation in 2000, he was accepted in the Advanced Program in Periodontology at Tufts University, School of dental Medicine in Boston, USA. During his clinical program he became familiar and adept at all forms of periodontal therapy including pocket elimination, guided tissue and bone regeneration, soft tissue grafting and plastic surgical procedures. He is well trained in all aspects of implant therapy including site preparations procedures such as sinus lifting, ridge augmentation and all methods of soft and hard tissue grafting. In 2004, he receives his Master of Science Degree from Tufts University School of dental Medicine. Following graduation in 2004, he was accepted at Harvard University School of Public Health where he received his MPH Degree in 2005.
In 2008, he receives his PhD Degree in Molecular Biology from the Medical School of the University of Athens. In 2014, he receives his PhD Degree in Oral Biology from the Dental School of the University of Athens.
From 2005 to 2010, he worked as a clinical assistant for the Department of Periodontology at the University of Athens, School of Dentistry. Since 2006, he maintains a private dental practice in the center of Athens, focusing on periodontology, implant dentistry and esthetics.
He has published 19 articles in Greek and international journals and is currently giving lectures regarding periodontal and implant therapy.
Dr. Kontovazainitis is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology, the New England Hellenic Medical and Dental Association, Athens Dental Association, the Hellenic Periodontal Society, and the Hellenic Society of Odontostomatological Research.
