Dr. Theodoros Kalampokas is an Obstetrician-Surgeon-Gynecologist, specializing in assisted reproduction. He is among the very few doctors that are officially accredited by the British Fertility Society in Assisted Reproduction and in Gynecological Ultrasounds, holding the title of Assisted Reproduction BFS Specialist, which guarantees the provision of highest quality health services. Moreover, Dr. Kalampokas is a University Scholar (Supervisor in Obstetrics and Gynecology) at the Nationl & Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Visiting Supervisor at the Assisted Reproduction Unit of Aberdeen University, UK.
Dr. Kalampokas has studied Medicine at the Medical School of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, from where he graduated in 2002. He has obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Gynecological Cancer-Health Economics from the National School of Public Health, Greece, and his Ph.D. (with Honors) in Cervical Cancer and Genetics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (2nd Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynecology, "Aretaieion" Hospital).
Dr. Kalampokas has been certified by the British Fertility Society Certification in Assisted Reproduction, in Pelvic Ultrasound, and in Embryo Transfer-IUI. He has also authored book chapters and has been a lecturer in the University of Aberdeen, UK, and in the University of Athens, Greece, on topics related to assisted reproduction, infertility, labor and sexually transmitted diseases.
Dr. Kalampokas is currently a Consultant at the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Athens Medical School, "Aretaieion" Hospital, in Athens, Greece. He is also a Consultant at "Leto" Maternity Hospital, in the Department of Gynecological Endoscopy IVF Unit, in Athens, Greece.
From April 2012 to September 2015 he was a Clinical Research Fellow and an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow, at the Assisted Reproduction Unit of the University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Prior to that, he was for 4 years a Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology, "417 N.I.M.T.S." Army Hospital and 2nd Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the "Aretaieion" University Hospital, in Athens, Greece. He has also served the 1st IKA Hospital in Athens, Greece as a Resident in General Surgery.
Dr.Kalampokas has 44 publications in peer-reviewed journals, more than 104 presentations in conferences, has been author of 5 book chapters and has been invited to lecture on Assisted Reproduction and Gynecological Endoscopy (Laparoscopy-Hysteroscopy) several times.
Moreover, he has received the Dimitrios Mavrokordatos Award for Excellence in Academic Studies in the year 2000 and several awards for presenting his work in Scientific Congresses.
Dr. Kalampokas is a member of the Secretary General, Greek Society of Family Planning and Contraception, the British Fertility Society, the European Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy, the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology, the European Society of Contraception, the Greek Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and the Greek Society of Menopause.
